Questions that come up often

I lost a recording. Can it be recovered?

Often yes. Audio is written in short segments while you record, so even if the app closed abruptly the pieces already written are on disk. On the next launch the app looks for them and rebuilds the recording.

If a segment turns out to be damaged, the app tries to repair it rather than discard it. If after relaunching you still don't see the recording, write to us before uninstalling or clearing the app: uninstalling takes the data with it, permanently.

The Watch recording stopped on its own

watchOS doesn't grant unlimited background audio sessions: with the screen off the system can suspend the app. That's a platform limit, not something we can fix.

For long recordings use the iPhone, where background recording is unrestricted. Whatever the Watch had already captured isn't lost: it stays in the segments and gets recovered.

A call came in while I was recording

Recording stops and resumes on its own once the call ends, then the pieces are stitched into a single file. The interruption stays on record: you know it happened and how long it lasted, so you don't mistake a gap for a transcription error.

Where do my recordings go?

On your device, encrypted. There's no server to upload them to and no account to create. The details are in the privacy policy (currently Italian only; an English version is being prepared).

Can I record a conversation? Is it legal?

It depends on where you are and who is taking part. The rules vary a lot from country to country, and misusing a recording can have serious consequences.

There's a page dedicated to it: recordings and the law (Italian). Read it before recording anyone.

I bought Pro and changed phone

The purchase is tied to your Apple ID, not to the device: in the app settings use "Restore purchases" and Pro comes back. You don't pay twice.

For bugs, questions or requests: [email protected]

If you're reporting a problem, help us help you: give the iPhone or Watch model, the iOS/watchOS version, and what you were doing when it happened. If it concerns a recording, the date and time matter: they tell us which segments to look at.
